With the Murphy Arts District!
Wait, is Main Street El Dorado and MAD not the same thing?
-
We are not the same! MSE and MAD are two separate entities that happen to both reside in Downtown El Dorado. Here's the difference:

Is MSE and MAD not the same
-
MSE: Main Street El Dorado is a nonprofit organization under the program of Main Street America. We are committed to downtown revitalization, economic development, and historic preservation while also providing year-round family friendly activitites for locals and visitors to El Dorado. All revenue generated is put right back into Downtown businesses, restoration, and beautification!
-
MAD: "El Dorado Festivals & Events has been working since 2017 to create an Arts & Entertainment District in downtown El Dorado - the Murphy Arts District. Our goal is to provide the city of El Dorado with creative outlets to explore music, dance, theater, art and food in fun and immersive ways that hold true to the people and culture of El Dorado." What's the difference between MSE and the Chamber of Commerce?
-
MSE helps bring visitors to El Dorado and enjoy what we have to offer, the Chamber of Commerce serves as an advocate, promoter, and support system for local businesses, and aims to create a favorable business environment and foster economic growth within the El Dorado community.
Can I order a pizza for pickup?
-
Oops, we're Main Street El Dorado, not Main Street Pizza. You can call them here!
When is MusicFest?
-
MusicFest is always the first weekend in October!
Why can't we bring [insert popular artist here] to MusicFest?
-
MusicFest (our only fundraiser for the year) is fueled by sponsorships and community investments from the previous year, which help us cover essential costs like rentals, equipment, and logistics. Right now, booking the hottest artists comes with a hefty price tag that's beyond our current budget. But with your ongoing support and donations, we're optimistic about the future! Your contributions can help us grow and eventually bring in those top-tier headliners everyone's buzzing about.
Why don't we have [insert major chain restaurant]?
-
The reason we can't bring a lot of major chain restaurants to town boils down to our population size and average income. Chains typically looks for areas with larger populations and higher average incomes to ensure their business can thrive. While we'd love to have more of them here, our community size and economic metrics don't quite match up yet.
Why don't we have a men's clothing store?
-
The simple reason is that no one has taken the initiative to open one yet! If you or someone you know has a vision or a passion for bringing a men's clothing store to our downtown area, we're all ears and can help navigate that path.
I have an event downtown, can we collaborate?
-
Absolutely! We collaborate on the Juneteenth activities and Mi Tiera Fest in the fall!
Can we have a pocket park downtown?
-
What a great idea that we totally agree with! Give us some time to get our plans together.
I don't see my question 🥺
-
Ah, street. You must have a great question! Reach out to us here and we'll get that answered ASAP.
