showdown at sunset

This award-winning event was named one of the Top-100 Events in North America by the American Bus Association and received the Community Trademark Award by the Arkansas Festival & Event Association.
In 1902 in broad daylight on the courthouse square, city Marshal Guy Tucker confronted his bitter rivals, the Parnell Brothers. In one swift moment, a flurry of gunfire left three men dead and several others wounded. The re-enactment supports a cast of area actors and chronicles the events that led up to this historic event.

Characters include: City Marshal Guy Tucker, grandfather to former Arkansas Governor Jim Guy Tucker; store owner Tom Parnell; brother Matt Parnell; photographer Bob Mullens; Sheriff Norris and others. This historic portrayal of life in El Dorado in the early 1900s includes live music prior to the re-enactment.

Located in Historic Downtown El Dorado on Washington Street. (Sponsored by the South Arkansas Historical Preservation Society)
Showdown at Sunset is open to the public and no admission fee. Bring your lawn chairs!

DJ KN0X

Kn0x is a music production project created by Arkansas native Michael Rhyan. He was born March 17th, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Mary and Fletcher Rhyan. His stay in Nevada didn't last long as he was brought to his grandparents a mere 7 days later where he resides as of now. Music was never his strong suit, getting into video editing at the age of 12 and following that passion until the age of 14. During his freshman year of High School he decided to take a course titled "music technology" where he began his first musical project titled "Dancing On The Moon." This project was quickly abandoned and was picked back up as DavGov where he quickly gained a following. Not enjoying the music he was making this project was abandoned not even a year later, picking back up in late 2020 as thxception and quickly changing to knOx. Inspired by artists such as Modestep, Virtual Riot, and Peekaboo, Michael creates music distinguishing himself as one of the bass music kings of Arkansas. Producing music from dubstep to house, Michael has a wide range of musical talent. Currently using Ableton Live 10 and Fl Studio he continues to create track after track with his own unique feel.
